WHAT IS A TONGUE TIE?

A tongue tie is an abnormality caused by a lingual frenulum that is either too thick or too short. Your lingual frenulum is the small fold of tissue that extends from the floor of your mouth to the bottom of your tongue. When a baby has a thick or short frenulum, this restricts the movement of their tongue and makes it difficult to breastfeed. If left untreated, this restricted movement can cause many other oral problems, such as speech issues, neck and back pain, and TMD. A quick, effective treatment from Colorado Tongue Tie can release the frenulum and give you and your child the nursing experience you deserve.

WHAT IS A LIP TIE?

Lip ties occur when there are abnormalities with the small piece of tissue (known as the frenulum) that connects a child’s lip to their gums. If the frenulum is too large or too tight, it can restrict the movement of the upper lip. Lip ties prevent infants from breastfeeding, and in some severe cases can even make it difficult for a baby to feed from a bottle.

Laser Technology

Our doctors use a CO2 laser (also called a “cold laser”) to perform tongue and lip tie releases. With this state-of-the-art technology, these procedures can be completed in about 30 seconds. Cold laser technology also results in a much quicker healing process than the traditional use of a scalpel or “hot” laser. In most cases, babies are able to nurse immediately after the procedure, and older children will notice a difference in mobility of their tongue right away.

COST

For babies under 12 months of age fees are $75 for the exam and $700 for the release. For patients that are 1- 4 years or age the fee is $75 for the exam and $900 for the release. For adults, our fees are $150 for the exam and $1500 for the frenuloplasty since it's a more complicated procedure.  Commonly, in order to get the full function we are looking for, we need to do both a tongue and lip tie release. You will not be charged multiple times if we perform both a tongue and lip tie release. We charge only a single fee to make sure we achieve full functionality.

REVIEWS:

Cute Baby

We are so grateful we found Colorado Tongue Tie. They explained their exam findings so clearly, explained how the findings were related to my sons symptoms, and performed the exam and procedure on our 12 day old baby with skill and compassion that made us all feel so much more comfortable. Our little baby barely even cried. I cannot recommend them enough or fully express the complete value of their services.

Everything and everyone was so welcoming and caring from the minute I stepped into the office. I was nervous about the procedure, but I felt at ease once I started my exam with Dr Chad. The actual procedure was fairly quick and painless as Dr Chad took extra care to make sure I couldn’t feel anything. He also followed up with me later that afternoon to make sure I was doing well. The facility was clean and they are super organized.

I could not be more impressed with this office! Both Dr. Jesse and Dr. Chad are incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to explain not only WHAT they are doing, but WHY. Every single person I came in contact with made me feel welcomed and cared for. I could not be more happy or impressed by the office, the entire process and most importantly- the outcome. 100% recommend this office and everyone that works there! 🥳
